Bravo Picks Up “Real Housewives of D.C.”

Murmured over for months, but now official: “The Real Housewives of D.C.” has been picked up by Bravo, so we can all let loose a collective sigh and know that our fair city is the backdrop for its due number of trashy reality programming.

Will a full-on obsession set in like the locals had with locating the Real World house earlier in the year? Unlikely. D.C. denizens are reality show vets now. It’s almost like old hat to us.

Still, some details are yet to be hashed out, such as who exactly will be featured on the show, but a few prominent names have been floated.

Casting has not been announced, but according to Hollywood Reporter, “Washington publications have speculated that ‘D.C.’ cast members will include Lisa Wernick Spies, wife of Republican fundraiser Charlie Spies, and Lynda Erkiletian, president of a Washington modeling agency. Bravo would not confirm castings.”

At least now that official word is in about the show going forward, these announcements can’t be long in coming. Soon the town with be abuzz again with pointless pablum! So much better than health care!
