Recap: City Paper Community Conversation on the History of Go-Go Music

On Friday, October 18, the Washington City Paper hosted a panel discussion at the Public Bar Live, as part of their ongoing Community Conversations series.  The topic of this particular episode focused on the history and continued grown of the Go-Go music culture.


The City Paper’s Community Conversations are a series of engaging panels, round tables, and discussions that bring together our journalist and local experts on all topics touching DC today—from music to education and maternal health to athletics. 


Moderated by Washington City Paper journalist Alona Wartofsky, the panel for this particular session included Kato Hammond (of TMOTTGoGo), Michelle Blackwell (of the What Band), Darrin X (mostly for the Rare Essence, 911 and TCB camps), and journalist Marcus Dowling.
