We are sad to learn of the passing of Legendary Go-Go vocalist Lawrence West… better known as Maniac. 

Lawrence, mostly known for his time playing with Rare Essence, originated on the scene with the Mighty Peacemakers.  He’s also played over the years with bands, such as The Groove Masters, Maniac & The Soldiers, The Legends, and Godfather & Friends.  One of the biggest things that stood out the most about Lawernce was his witty nack at creating memorable hooks, catchy phrases, and rhymes.  One of the biggest was “I know something, and it is a fact. I am a Maniac.” (see clip below)
