Wale Gives Central High School A Little Something To Be Ambitious About

There were about 400 honor roll students, as well as a few others who have proven to be positive leaders, who were pleasantly surprised as they sat in Central High School’s auditorium. With what they thought would be just a simple assembly awarding them for their academic achievements, a game of “Simon Says” and a fashion show, ended up being more than that.  Much more.  A special exclusive performance hip-hop artist Wale.

Wale, who was in the process of beginning a 43 city tour promoting his lasted album “Ambition” (which dropped this week), stopped into the school’s assembly and not only surprised the hell out of them, but performed and spoke with them about inspiration and the importance of making the right choices as they develop their potential and the possibilities that lay on the horizon for them.

“I like to promote the evolution of Hip Hop and to be from a place where it wasn’t even the favorite genre — and still isn’t — but to be one of the so called new school leaders is an incredible feat,” Wale was quoted as saying.

This visit was in part due to Prince George’s County’s efforts towards encouraging students in keeping up the good work.

“Ambition is important because that’s all you got,” Wale told reporters. “You have a fear when putting your all out there. But you do it.”
