Local Officials Aim To Prevent Gang Violence In PG County Schools

(Prince George’s County, MD)  – State and local officials are launching a 100-thousand-dollar program to fight gang violence in two of Prince George’s County’s most troubled middle schools .  A 50-thousand-dollar grant from Maryland’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention is being matched with another 50-thousand-dollars from the United Way of the National Capital Area, to create seminars, films and other programs to keep kids out of gangs and help gang get out.  The money will be used at Benjamin Stoddert Middle and Thurgood Marshall Middle Schools in Temple Hills.
