Capturing a King’s Special Memory at the Memorial

As tens of thousands of people gathered in Washington DC to honor the memory and pledge to carry forward the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, a picture speaking volumes in so many ways captures Dr. Kings daughter, Bernice A. King, as she embraces the huge stone of her father. Later she wrote: “Very emotional moment for me! New Date for MLK Memorial Dedication

Oct. 16 has been set as the new date for the Martin Luther King Memorial dedication, which was postponed last month after torrential rains from Hurricane Irene hit the D.C. region. According to reports, organizers of the dedication  — who rescheduled the event out of concern for the public’s safety — are expected to make a formal announcement this week surrounding the new date.
