Faycez U Know closing out the 25th Annual 2010 W.A.M.A. Awards with a hot performance @ The State Theater in Falls Church VA. playing a medley of their original material (Luv Thang, Soul Swinger and Bottoms Up) and then finishing out with a Go-Go rendition of ‘Flaws and All’. If you listen closely at the end you’ll hear the Mothership start her engines as they left everyone in attendance on their feet and giving a strong cheering and a round of applause. Be’la Dona Vocalist Wendy Mackall Fights Fires for a Living… Straight up!

The Gazette – Wendy Mackall, a career Montgomery County firefighter and lead singer for Be’la Dona band, in front of one of the fire trucks at the Kensington station where she works. Since becoming a county firefighter she said she’s become some-what famous as the “face of Montgomery County” Fire and Rescue Service. Her picture is plastered on recruiting and advertising material, found mainly on the side of the county’s Ride On buses. Chuck Brown and Raheem DeVaughn Headline Vincent Gray’s Inaugural Gala [Examiner]

By Sidney Thomas | DC Music Examiner DC Mayor Vincent Gray celebrated his inauguration with a little help from R&B superstar Raheem DeVaughn and the “Godfather of Go-Go” Chuck Brown. The inaugural gala capped an entire day of events which included a interfaith prayer service, and the official mayoral swearing-in ceremony. The gala was held at the Washington Convention Center, and co-hosted by Big Tigger (WPGC) and Jamie Foster Brown (Sister 2 Sister magazine).
