It Was a Rumor… Donnie Simpson is NOT Scheduled for the Quiet Storm

Several days ago we were following a lead and reported that one of DC’s all-time favorite radio jocks, Donnie Simpson, was set and scheduled to hit back on the radio airwaves with WHUR’s Quiet Storm beginning April.  Well… apparently we were the fools on this one, because that lead we followed turned out to be merely a rumor.  Based on a note that Donnie posted on his Facebook page, the record was set straight. Although this started out as something that actually ‘syced’ the entire DMV area hearing such news, we at TMOTTGoGo truly apologize for following and reporting the … Continue reading It Was a Rumor… Donnie Simpson is NOT Scheduled for the Quiet Storm

DC’s Own Donnie Simpson Named #2 in the Top 10 Urban DJ’s of All Time

via RadioFacts.com “I had never heard of Donnie until I watched Video Soul many years ago. He was certainly the best host the show ever had and I certainly believe part of his demise on the show was BETs foolish decisions to pair him with co-hosts. I have met Donnie once or twice and he is the very person that was on Video Soul. I’ve just learned that there is a very good chance he will re-emerge on DC radio after his non compete is up in the next year from WPGC. Donnie, compared to most on the list (besides … Continue reading DC’s Own Donnie Simpson Named #2 in the Top 10 Urban DJ’s of All Time

We’re also now hearing about a lot of turmoil at PGC, a longtime urban-formatted station. The ratings have slumped, since the Portable People Meters got unveiled in the DC market last fall.
